Esta capacitación de 4 partes proporciona una amplia descripción e introducción a algunas características básicas del suelo: fases (sólida, líquida, gaseosa), textura, densidad, estructura, reacción (pH), relaciones planta-agua, materia orgánica, biología y nutrientes.

Después de algunas charlas en el aula, nos dirigimos a la Granja ECHO, donde observamos los perfiles del suelo con diferentes horizontes del mismo para señalar las diferencias de textura, color, densidad y estructura. Los participantes practicaron la determinación de la textura del suelo mediante el tacto.
