The purpose of this monographis to present methods and processes by which organic waste materials, which constitute a health hazard and a source of disease communication, may be treated for sanitary disposal and utilization in agriculture. These important objectives-sanitary treatment for the protection of health, and preparation of waste for utilization in agriculture--are compatibly. By using proper techniques, it is often possible to increase considerably the reclamation of plant nutrients for the improvement of food production, while accomplishing sanitary treatment.
