BORDA Las Américas works in four countries: Mexico, Cuba, Nicaragua, Haiti with its regional office located in Mexico City.
As in many regions of the world, sanitation services such as wastewater treatment in Latin America and the Caribbean present great deficiencies. This deficit means that only about half of the population has access to potable water and sanitation services. In addition, knowledge about the health and environmental consequences is low.
[23% of the inhabitants of Latin America and the Caribbean have health facilities managed safely.]
BORDA Las Américas supports the planning and implementation of integrated and decentralized solutions for water and waste management. The possibilities of intervention range from a house, small communities and cities to river basins.
