Cultivating the Rain with Ecological Agriculture

You are invited to attend the free online Zoom Ecological Agriculture class, Cultivating the Rain with Ecological Agriculture on Saturday, June 14, 2025, 9:00-11:00 am (Hawaii Standard Time), 2-4 pm Central Time, 19:00-21:00 (UTC).
The class will share methods that work with nature to conserve & collect water, heal the soil, increase production, and reduce labor & inputs. Participants will learn strategies and practices that they can apply on any scale in backyard gardens, farms, ranches, and forests. Each instructor will show real world examples. The event is sponsored by the US Department of Agriculture, UH-Hilo Pacific Aquaculture & Coastal Resources Center, the Marine & Environmental Research Institute of Pohnpei, and Revitalizing Hawaii.
The instructors will be David Sansone, owner of Hawaii Edible Landscaping, LLC on Hawaii Island and Adam Russell, co-owner of Symbiosis, Austin, Texas’ largest permaculture and ecological agriculture contractor.
About the instructors: David Sansone is replanting paradise with ecological agriculture, forestry, and edible landscapes on Hawaii Island. He has transformed numerous degraded farm lands, abandoned roads, and industrial sites into thriving low-maintenance edible botanical gardens, farms, and forests. Adam Russell, is experienced in a wide range of restorative agriculture systems & practices with a special focus on dryland strategies. Adam’s current projects include broadscale soil and atmospheric regeneration and the spread of available solutions through his work with Symbiosis. Registration is required to attend the class.
