Martha VanCise's book is The Joy of Cooking for short-term mission team volunteers. She packs it with solid, understandable, usable recipes for success and amply sprinkles it with the right ingredients, how to enjoy the outcome, and how to share the goodies with others. She does not omit the most essential spice for spiritual success--the spirit of Christlike service. I know of no better book for anyone thinking about being a short-term mission team volunteer, overseas or at home.
