This agroforestry manual is a culmination of many years of soil conservation work in Eastern Province. It has been accomplished as a result of team work involving various experts in the departments of agriculture, forestry and natural resources as well as various organizations. It will be useful to farmers, agriculture and forestry extension workers as well as researchers and rural development workers. The uniqueness of this manual arises from the fact that it has incorporated local/indigenous or rural people's knowledge.
