This book identifies the role that Phytoacca dodecandra (Endod) may play in contributing to control of schistosomiasis. Proceedings of th 1983 Workshop on Phytolacca dodecandra in which research on the chemical, toxicological, molluscidical and agronomic aspects of the plant was reviewed. Strategies for integrated schistosomiasis control are outlined. The papers presented to the Workshop form the second part of the book and include original laboratory and field research on the plant, its properties and uses, studies on schistosomiasis prevalence and distribution and the general availability of other molluscicides.
