Solanum pimpinellifolium

The name "wild" implies that this tomato sprawls, is indeterminate (keeps flowering and bearing fruit for months), can be somewhat weedy, and is disease resistant. It produces lots and lots of tiny, red, soft-skinned tomatoes that are great eaten out of hand or in salads. The tiny fruits are loaded with flavor and are sometimes referred to as a currant tomato. A nice backyard variety; not suitable for market sales. They are normally not trellised or caged and can sprawl up to 12 feet. Also shows resistance to heat and pests.
