Description
Amaranthus hybridus is also known as smooth pigweed or slender pigweed. It can be grown both for its edible leaves and its edible grain. The difference in this species from other grain amaranths is that it produces black seeds. A. hybridus grows as a 1-2m tall annual. It is a drought tolerant crop.
