Tall fescue is the predominant cool-season, perennial grass in the US.  This plant is adapted to a wide range of climatic conditions, from Canada to Florida, but grows best in the transition zone.  The literature on tall fescue is widely scattered.  This new monograph gathers results from extensive research on the grass, originally reported in various publications, and places the work in perspective.

The editors and authors, with the assistance of reviewers, contributed serious efforts in the writing of this book. Their efforts resulted in a text covering the history, adaptation, taxonomy, physiology, breeding, seed production, management, pasture use, and various other aspects of this production, management, pasture use, and various other aspects of this widely grown grass.  Each chapter was contributed by one or more specialists in a given field, thus giving this publication unique quality information.
