Food Plant Solutions

ECHO se asocia con organizaciones de todo el mundo para reunir y compartir recursos con los pequeños productores y los cooperantes agrícolas. ECHO ha compartido las publicaciones de Food Plant Solutions’ (FPS) en ECHOcommunity.org durante un año y recientemente firmó un acuerdo con FPS para ampliar nuestra cooperación a fin de mejorar la visibilidad de sus recursos.

Sus publicaciones subrayan la importancia de seleccionar plantas con un alto contenido nutricional y que estén bien adaptadas a las condiciones locales. Los materiales consisten principalmente de guías de campo específicas por países. Puede encontrar una guía para más de 35 países, y cada una contiene información sobre planes de alimentos nutritivos que se encuentran en esos lugares.

FPS está conectada, a través de Rotary, con Food Plants International (FPI). Bruce French, que fundó FPI, ha creado una base de datos con más de 30,000 plantas comestibles. La información que contiene la base de datos de FPI es fundamental para los recursos de FPS. La labor de FPS complementa el deseo de ECHO de proporcionar información sobre plantas y técnicas agrícolas útiles.
