'Appropriate technology' has, in a matter of a few short years, become one of the most talked about strategies to help the world's poor. Individuals, small private groups, governement agencies and international organizations virtually everywhere are in the process of incorporating 'appropriate technology' into their activities. At the same time, AT is probably the least agreed-upon concept to appear in development circles in many years.
