The purpose of this bulletin is to describe methods applied to utilize nitrogen-fixing systems in soil improvement and management and the consequent increases in crop yields obtainable by these methods. The rest of the integrated systems involved i.e. chemical and physcial manipulations, are characterized with respect to their interaction with biological nitrogen-fixing systems.
