This report is the result of one year's collaboration between the Centre for Development Co-operation Services (CDCS) of the Free University of Amsterdam, the International Institute for Environment and Development, London, and the Soil Conservation Research Program, Addis Ababa. It compiles the initial results of the inventory of indigenous soil and water conservation measures on selected sites in the Ethiopian Highlands carried out in 1994 and 1995.
