In August 2017, Tim Watkins traveled to Mchinga, Tanzania to assist Kilimo Timilifu (KT) in the process of developing a plan for integrating agroforestry practices into KT's farm plans. He worked closely with Joel Wildasin, who was serving as the KT farm manager at the time. Tim will begin by presenting on the background, planning process and resulting plans for agroforestry practices at KT. Then, Joel will present on some of the implementation of the plans and discuss the planning process from KT's perspective.
Tim Watkins
Originally from Duluth, Minnesota, Tim was an ECHO intern in 2001. He served as ECHO's Nursery Manager from 2006 to 2010 and is currently overseeing ECHO’s Agriculture Operations Team which includes the Seed Bank, Global Farm, Propagation Nursery, and Appropriate Technology areas.
His agriculture development experience includes serving for one year (2002-2003) in the Central African Republic (CAR) managing the Centre d'Agroforesterie, a project promoting fruit trees and tree planting among the Gbaya and Fulani farmers of Western CAR. Throughout his time at ECHO, Tim has had the opportunity to travel to many African countries for ECHO events and some agricultural consulting. Tim’s primary areas of interest include agroforestry, tropical fruits, nursery management and plant propagation.

Past intern and staff of Echo. I now work in Tanzania at a business-as-mission company using
Conservation Ag and creation care techniques. I also work with the emerging African mission movement.
