Vegetable crops thrive in healthy soil. Farmers can improve the quality of their soil and provide nutrients for their plants by making and adding compost to their fields or planting beds.
In this video produced by the World Vegetable Center for the VINESA project, researcher Emanuel Pallangyo explains how the materials needed for composting, how to build a compost pile, and how to use the finished compost to benefit vegetable crops.
VINESA is funded by the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research and the Australian International Food Security Research Centre.
