Speaker Bio: Sabine Scheucher is a botanist, teacher, and horticultural therapist, originally from Austria. She worked in Nepal for about seven years, including Tibet and North-India, mainly doing research on herbs (culinary, aromatic, medicinal) and horticultural therapy. Currently, Sabine is based in Okinawa, Japan, doing research on herbs, leafy greens, fruits, and organic growing.

Abstract: Sabine will talk about her current research on the organic growing of herbs, leafy greens, and fruits in Okinawa, Japan. She will provide some ideas for crops that can be grown successfully in subtropical/tropical areas on a small scale.
