Tomato is a valuable crop in Eastern Africa, but the whitefly (Bemisia tabaci) can cause large crop losses if it is not controlled.
In this video produced by the World Vegetable Center for the VINESA project, researcher Samail Njau explains how to identify whitefly, use pest management methods such as sticky traps and border crops, and how to apply pesticides safely if they are needed.
VINESA is funded by the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research and the Australian International Food Security Research Centre.
