This publication is a record of the proceedings of the 2nd International Symposium on Tropical Root and Tuber Crops.  Papers included survey the general status of each of the major crops and those factors that limit their production and utilization.

Emphasis was limited to a discussion of the morpology and uses of the plant although other characteristics were included when available. Since most underground tuberous crops give good yeilds in Hawaii, thier production could be increased by devoting more attention to them, especially to those crops like ginger and lotus roots which are supplemented by importation.
