Session : "Foodlife" is a word coined by Toshihiro Takami, founder of the Asian Rural Institute (ARI), to describe the inseparable relationship between food and life. This concept guides the Food, Education and Sustainable Table (FEAST) process in this rural leader training program on an organic farm. In a world torn apart by ever increasing conflict, learn how FEAST fosters peacebuilding and reconciliation among people from various parts of the world.

Presenter : Bev Abma is a long-term overseas development worker. With a BS in Nursing, she participated in pediatric nursing in Canada; overseas development and domestic disaster response with the Christian Reformed World Relief Committee (now World Renew); founding Foods Resource Bank (FRB, now known as Growing Hope Globally) and leading its overseas food security programming; and completed graduate impact study for the Asian Rural Institute (ARI). She now serves on the boards of FRB (emerita) and American Friends of ARI (AFARI), in addition to consulting and leading vision groups to various countries.
