Seed Harvest Report Form: Let Us Know of Your Results 

Crop evaluation is at the heart of why ECHO supplies small packets of seeds.  With a trial packet of seeds from our seed bank, you can start a small observation plot to find out how a particular crop performs under local conditions.  Show the plants to farmers and find out what crops/varieties they like or don’t like.  Success will ultimately be determined by the level of farmer acceptance.  Whether a crop succeeds or fails, valuable knowledge is gained from the effort that goes into growing out a few seeds. 

That knowledge is lost unless it is written down.  Below is a simple form that you can use to record your observations.  Over time, the information gleaned will equip ECHO’s international network with information on what crops are best suited to specific areas.   

You may have requested and received seeds of multiple crops/varieties from ECHO.  Not all of those will necessarily be planted and harvested at the same time of year.  The advantage of this form is that you can enter information at your convenience for one crop at a time, as the crops mature.
